Company Profile
Since our company opened, CRG Marine Laboratories, Inc. has been a leader in environmental testing, priding itself on client service in order to provide the highest-quality results. In order to reach the lowest reporting limits possible CRG uses some of the most sophisticated analytical testing equipment available. Many of the instruments are the latest models offered by the manufacturers which include an ICPMS with collision cell technology for low level metals analysis and the removal of difficult interferences, cold vapor atomic fluorescence (CV-AF) spectrometer (for ultra low level mercury analyses), and GCMS that run in electron ionization, chemical ionization, and SIM mode (as needed to report low levels of various organic analyses).
CRG is also committed to recruiting, training, and retaining the most qualified and experienced staff possible. Our employees have extensive experience in environmental testing, especially with the more difficult matrices such as seawater, tissues and sediments. Our lab uses cross training between departments to ensure that there is always adequate staff to meet the clients’ needs. Beyond internal training and QC measures, our lab participates in State mandated and optional blind performance testing programs that help ensure that CRG analysts are well trained and performing at the highest levels.
Our Sample Control department has the ability to provide pickups and deliveries so that samples reach their intended destinations intact and on time. CRG Marine Laboratories can provide all necessary sample containers for your needs. The laboratory also provides services for the cleaning of sampling equipment. Once at the laboratory, the samples and chain of custody form are inspected for a number of compliance related issues. Further, project notes are reviewed to ensure that all samples and analyses expected match what was received. Any discrepancies are noted and the client is contacted immediately so that all issues are resolved prior to the start of sample analysis.
In addition to lab testing, we participate in a number of environmental studies used to evaluate the impact of contamination on human health and the environment. We continue to improve internal procedures as evidenced by our implementation of a new LIMS system to provide real time project tracking and more accurately reported data which is automatically uploaded directly from our instruments. We also recently added new Project Managers to our staff who understand the science we provide and will work with our clients to understand their project needs. We are the laboratory which pioneered the use of Mass Spectrometry for many analyses to improve the confidence level of identifying reported compounds. CRG conducts many of its own in-house studies to determine the best procedure to analyze for compounds that are not on the EPA list of methods.
Our laboratory is dedicated to the accurate and timely testing of testing seawater, sediments, tissues and water (storm and fresh) for contaminants in every project we work on. Our project management team is committed to understanding our clients' needs to ensure that they receive the best services possible.
