SENIOR PROFESSIONAL STAFF
Richard Gossett, Laboratory Manager
Mr. Gossett has more than 24 years of experience in environmental chemistry. He is responsible for the management of all laboratory activities including supervision of laboratory staff, quality control, project management, methods development and laboratory certifications. His project experience includes serving as Laboratory Coordinator for the EPA Environmental Monitoring and Assessment Program (EMAP) sponsored Southern California Bight Pilot Project, Predicting the Bioaccumulation of Organic Compounds Using Octanol/Water Partition Coefficients, Seafood Hazards to Man, NSF Food Web Study, 60-Meter Synoptic Survey, 1985 Reference Survey, 1990 Reference Survey, Trace Pollutants in Surface Runoff, PAHs in the Southern California Bight, and Congener-Specific PCBs in Los Angeles Harbor. Mr. Gossett is also founder and past president of the Southern California Environmental Chemists Society (SCECS) and serves on the Standard Methods PCB committee.
Dr. Antony Basil, Microbiology Laboratory Manager
Dr. Basil recently received his PhD from the University of Idaho in Microbiology and joined CRG in July 2006.
G. Patrick Hershelman- Senior Chemist
Mr. Hershelman has more than 24 years experience analyzing trace elements in marine environmental samples. He is responsible for ensuring that all phases of the analytical processes are technically correct and statistically valid, providing technical support to clients, methods development, operation of the ICPMS, sample processing, quality control, data reporting and evaluation, and report writing. His project experience includes NSF Food Web Study, Contaminants in Sediments of Two Nearshore Basin Slopes off Southern California, 60-Meter Synoptic Survey, 1985 Reference Survey, 1990 Reference Survey, Slope Survey Off Orange County, and Trace Pollutants in Surface Runoff.
